Great Organizations Are Built Through Alignment
About Susan Tweedy
The Foundation
After more than twenty years operating at the intersection of business strategy, technology, and execution, I've reached one conclusion: the organizations that transform successfully aren't the ones with the best technology or the biggest budgets. They're the ones where people are aligned - seen for what they're capable of, not just what they're currently doing - and given the conditions to do the best work of their careers.
That's not a soft idea. It's the hardest and most consequential lever in any transformation. And it's the one most leaders overlook.
The Philosophy
When people are aligned with work that draws on their true interests and abilities, the entire organization shifts. Outcomes accelerate. Silos dissolve. Teams accomplish things that weren't on anyone's roadmap - because the people carrying the work have real ownership of it. That's not inspiration. That's what alignment actually produces.
When people are aligned, they achieve the art of the possible.
The Experience
The work I do is grounded in experience, not theory.
As CIO of a $12B regional bank, I led enterprise transformation in a regulated environment where execution failures surfaced in regulatory exams and board oversight - not just quarterly reports. As a senior leader at CGI, Hitachi Consulting, and Arthur Andersen, I advised CEOs, CFOs, COOs, and Boards across industries navigating digital transformation, AI readiness, and regulatory complexity. I have led technology strategy in venture-backed companies where capital discipline and sequencing determined survival - including one backed by Sequoia Capital and later acquired by Oracle.
I understand the whole game - the people dynamics, the capital constraints, the vendor pressures, the board relationships, and the sequencing that determines whether a transformation lands or collapses.
Recognition
In 2025, I was named one of All Around Worlds Magazine’s“Top 20 Emerging Women Leaders Redefining Success.” The recognition reflects a belief that has guided my entire career:
You can't solve today's challenges with yesterday's thinking - or yesterday's assumptions about what people are capable of.
I founded Aetherium Impact on a simple premise: organizations don’t transform. People do. And when you get the people right, everything else becomes possible.
If that’s the kind of advisor you’re looking for - let’s talk.
